I grew up in Peoria, Illinois in the 60's and 70's, influenced by the eclectic mix of vinyl albums my parents owned at the time. From Simon and Garfunkel, Peter, Paul and Mary, and the Everly Brothers, to The Sound of Music and The Singing Nun.
I discovered Dan Fogelberg's music (another Peoria native) and loved the harmonies and production. Then came Joni Mitchell who inspired my desperate need for a 12 string as my first guitar at 15!
Through music I got to travel the world for a few years, meet some wonderful people along the way, move to Nashville and the songwriting community I love, and just enjoy the process of pouring out my hopes, fears, and joys. And, to my continual amazement, others seem to relate to those same emotions. It's an incredible connection to the world, and I believe, to the One who created us to be creators ourselves!
